Warren Catchments Council

How could we not attend the Salinity Mitigation Community Meeting that was held last  9th February at Tonebridge Country Club.  There was a great turn out for the meeting plus there were some really interesting discussions about salinity mitigation and the on-ground funding and conditions. The Bluegum plantations are rapidly being harvested in our area raising concern over the potential rising salt levels in the Tone River.

We were privileged to hear from Dr Paul Raper, the Hydrologist from Dept of Agriculture & Food WA Bunbury who spoke at the meeting plus a few of the original Landcare people from when it all started over 25 years ago now.

We are delighted to have put in an application for further groundworks at Bellalee focusing on salinity and out waterways. This is the first time we have worked wTonebridge-meeting-240x150ith the Warren Catchments Council and we are looking forward to it.

Thank you to the wonderful people at Warren Catchment Council for arranging this and the Tonebridge Country Club who put on a fabulous spread of food for morning tea.
